The Lost City is the typical Hollywood adventure movie with the only purpose of making money, but that’s not a negative comment.
Hollywood is a specialist in making two types of movies: Entertaining movies following a formula for money and blatant propaganda for the United States regime. Often, they do it both, like the Marvel franchise.
This is of the first type. In it, a billionaire kidnaps a novelist hoping she can find a treasure in real life. So two guys go for her rescue, one a former Navy SEAL, the other a model.
What the film has in its favor is the decent comedy and some action moments. That’s without considering the star power, that counts with Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum as the duo of protagonists and the Brad Pitt and Daniel Radcliffe in the supporting cast.
Against it, there’s the weak and generic plot full of cliches.
All in all, it’s a watchable, but forgettable movie.
