Silly, but I like silly.

Blasted is a Norwegian Netflix movie about a group of friends who have to fight an alien invasion with laser tag weapons in the middle of a bachelor party trip.

It’s a cliched comedy that uses the alien invasion background to talk about friendship and how this friendship should be more valuable than pseudo-success.

There’s nothing too special or innovative, and I believe many people might overlook the message of the movie because of the mediocrity of the film overall.

The plot is subpar and everything else is average, like the special effects, score and so on. The acting is fine, and many of the characters are generic, but I could feel empathy towards them.

The humor is a kind of silly, almost juvenile, and I loved it. I think it’s the best thing about the movie, but I know it doesn’t suit every taste. I like it because I’m able to laugh hysterically at the most trivial things, like a guy asking for a hot chocolate after being jailed.

It’s not for everyone, but it’s short and it might be worth the try.
