In Booksmart, directed by Olivia Wilde, two brilliant students, Amy (Kaitlyn Dever) and Molly (Beanie Feldstein), try to experience in one night all the fun they didn’t have in previous High School years.
I usually get annoyed as f__k with the American depiction of teenagers in movies, and this is one of the few I really enjoyed. Definitely above the average in this aspect.
Portraying a turbulent moment of life when you’re still a teen but already flirting with adulthood, the movie did it well.
Also, the film was hilarious, very entertaining, and lively.
The two lead characters are amazing, and the actresses’ performances don’t disappoint.
Their friendship is one of my favorite things about the movie.
There are many other likable characters, but it’s a 1-minute review, so let’s leave it.
Even if you don’t like teen movies, I think you should give this one a try. It’s a guaranteed fun time.
