Black Widow, starring Scarlett Johansson, and directed by Cate Shortland, is an action and adventure movie released in 2021.
It’s a random story of Natasha Romanoff (played by Scarlett Johansson) after the Avengers Civil War. It also tells the backstory of how she became a high-skilled assassin.
The cast has nine Oscar Nominations with two wins, yet it’s a very mediocre movie even for the “pure entertainment” standard. I love entertainment movies like Superhero movies, I’m not a purist, this one is just not so great.
The plot is generic, but it has many attractive elements, like the action and the comedy. Florence Pugh and David Harbour are great with their comedy acting, and that’s probably my favorite element of Black Widow.
It’s a decent and watchable movie that would be much more well-regarded if it was made before the golden age of the Superhero genre. Right now, especially after some events in The Avengers, it’s just a trivial one.
