What’s up, I’m dos Santos, and this is Ulven Reviews: movies and series from all over the world and all eras. Today let’s talk about Space Jam: A New Legacy, an American adventure movie released in 2021 and directed by Malcolm D. Lee.

LeBron James and his fictitious son, Dom (played by Cedric Joe), are kidnapped by an algorithm (played by Don Cheadle) and forced to play against one another in a basketball game by the rules of a video game created by Dom.

So, LeBron James team up with the Looney Tunes to play against the super team of his own son.

Space Jam: A New Legacy is not the type of movie I usually review here. However, one of these days, I was fucking around the Instagram explore page, and I saw a post that compelled me to do this review. I’ll put a post here on the screen so you can see it.

Anyway, this review will be very short, very quick, just because why not?! I might review more mainstream commercial shit depending on how well this video goes.

Like most people who grew up in the 90s, I loved Space Jam with Michael Jordan. I think the Michael Jordan one is more solid, a better movie in general, but that doesn’t make me hate the new one, and think my childhood was better than anyone else’s because of Space Jam.

So, I think A New Legacy is nice enough for kids. If I was a kid, I would probably love it, and I would definitely ask my family for “A New Legacy” action figures. I had a Michael Jordan action figure back in the day, and I would probably buy a LeBron James one right now if I wasn’t broke.

Anyway, the story is just straight to the point, quite simple. It has the little lesson that the characters have to learn, and so on. Very professional and standard. And it’s very understandable, I mean, the movie didn’t want to get an Oscar nomination, he just wanted to make money. And I won’t preach against capitalism, today but don’t get used to it, it’s only today.

The characters are mediocre. There is no one to highlight. I like the professional player’s participation, so that is that. I also like the non-sexualized version of Lola Bunny.

I always find it really strange when people told me they were attracted to Lola Bunny. I mean, she’s a cartoon and a fucking bunny! How can you get attracted to a fucking bunny?!

Although I like the older version of her as a player, as a basketball player, this amazon version of Lola bunny is much better, much more compelling.

LeBron’s acting is good enough. I had some kind of a love-hate-love feeling towards LeBron James throughout the years. I liked him in his Cleveland years, in his early Cleveland years. At the time, I didn’t like his move to Miami, then I became somewhat of a hater. Then I became more mature, and I try to analyze reality as we see, it as we perceive it. So, I like him now, and I think he is one of the best players ever.

Because of that, I didn’t want him to be a bad actor, and in the beginning, it seemed like he would be awful. But as things went by, everything settled and went okay.

Everyone else were professional actors, so they did their job.

Now, for the best thing of the movie: the effects.

I like the Looney Tunes as CGI. I think they were very well done, very nice looking. They didn’t lose their personality at all.

The players in the video-game version were also interesting-looking and creative, especially considering this is a movie for kids.

With all these effects and compelling-looking characters, the movie looks very good, and to add some more elements, I also like the lights and especially the colors. I love the colors of the TuneSquad uniform, for example.

As for the use of music, it’s very generic. There’s a lot of trendy music that I don’t like, and the score is just professional generic like most of everything else.

Space Jam: A New Legacy is a very average, generic, mainstream commercial movie like most of Hollywood. At least it didn’t have any military-industrial complex propaganda, like most Hollywood movies (at least I don’t remember anything of this sort).

So the movie is not great by any means, but it’s not that bad. People need to chill, especially on a children’s movie, for fuck’s sake. I’ll give Space Jam: A New Legacy 6 Moons. I would give 5, but I will give 6 just to boost this motherfucker up.

That’s it for now. Once again, I encourage you to like, subscribe, comment, and share it with friends, acquaintances, and enemies. Some suggested videos will appear on the screen in a bit, you might give those ones some attention to, if you like.

Thanks for watching see you in the next video.
